The cockers belong to the English spaniels group , that it's includes seven different breed and undoubtedly this is the most attractive and diffused. The cockers were black, the first one was 'obo' born in 1878 through which he fixed the type. To the beginning of 1900 appeared the first cockers multi colours, thick dogs few elegant, very different from the actual ones. The demands venatories asked for more dogs dry, short and light, this has brought a good hunting assistant to the actual cocker. The actual cocker is one of the canine breed more beautiful and nice, perhaps this has attracted the attention of a little careful breeders to the dowries of the hunting dog, seeing only the beauty; the subjects raised to such purpose have certainly lost the instinct of the hunting and retriever, other consequence of this selection are the skull and the ears not moderate anymore in their development. The cocker is an happy dog, elegant, sporting, full of life, born for chasing even if it's beautiful to have him in the living room. The cockers specialty are the research that it is always developed quickly to the gallop, his gallop , avid and warlike always staying to useful draught of his conductor, he takes back very fast and he hasn't fear of obstacles like brambles and water. Concluding the cocker is an excellent and tenacious hunting dog for semi-sheltered grounds and woods to chase pheasants, woodcocks, wild rabbits and mini-hares.
